Position Summary The Department of Systems Biology, Korem Lab, is seeking a full-time, temporary Research Associate to join its team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focused on understanding complex biological systems. The focus of this role s on developing methodology for inference of mutations in microbiome data and requires expertise in Bayesian inference. The Research Associate will support day-to-day lab operations, assist with experimental workflows, and help maintain the high standards of organization and quality that drive the lab's scientific mission. Responsibilities Conduct computational and statistical research focused on the inference of mutational signatures in microbiome sequencing data, with an emphasis on identifying environmental exposures associated with prematurity. Apply Bayesian inference methods and probabilistic modeling techniques to analyze large-scale, high-dimensional biological datasets. Develop, document, and maintain reproducible, well-tested code and workflows suitable for dissemination to the broader academic and scientific community. Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications by drafting methods, results, and supporting materials as needed. Collaborate closely with principal investigator, postdocs, and other lab members to integrate computational methods with experimental and clinical data. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the lab's research mission and operational needs.
