Position Title: Packaging
Wage: $17.08 per hour Shift: 3rd Hours: 10:30pm-7:00am (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Packaging position available at a company in Centerville, IA. This is a 3rd shift position with the opportunity for hire. Packaging Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Visually inspect bottles for defects and package them according to job specifications. - Monitor production machinery for issues and pull the buzzer to alert appropriate personnel when necessary. - Assemble cardboard cartons and trays. - Place bottles on cartons and trays while verifying accuracy with the job order. - Receive instruction on stacking procedures if not trained during onboarding. - Operate a forklift if certified with the client site. - Perform "Flamer" duties as required, including safely removing bottles that catch fire using tongs, placing them in a water bucket, and notifying a technician. - Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures and protocols. - Maintain a clean and organized work area; properly separate scrap and trash into designated bins. Packaging Requirements: - Ability to stand for the entirety of an 8-12-hour shift. - Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs. regularly (95% of the time) and up to 40 lbs. occasionally. - Ability to distinguish colors accurately. - Strong hand-eye coordination. - Previous injection blow molding experience preferred but not required. - Forklift certification a plus (required only for forklift operation tasks). fairfield@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
