SPIRITUAL CARE HC SPEC 3 HX Spiritual Care Part Time 87391BR Job Summary Involves the facilitation and nurturing of personal religious rituals and spiritual practices for patients, their families, staff, faculty, allied health students (as applicable), and other health care team members. Provides spiritual care and emotional support, including exploration of issues that are of meaning and value and / or issues causing moral or spiritual distress to patients, their families, staff, and others. Serves as a bridge to patient's spiritual or religious community or congregation and to appropriate clergy or religious / spiritual leaders. Offers education and fosters conversation and clarification on cultural, ethical, religious, and other topics / dynamics that can affect patient care, family interactions, and staff performance. Key Responsibilities:
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $63,700 - $136,100 (Annual Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Department Description Spiritual Care & Chaplaincy Education provides multi-faith, emotional, intellectual, crisis, and spiritual support to the patients, parents/guardians, families, visitors, allied health learners and the interdisciplinary staff of UCSF by establishing and maintaining relationships that enable care for people in the context of their spiritual or existential needs and resources, and preparing the next generation of spiritual caregivers through ACPE accredited training. Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications N/A License/Certification Endorsement, ordination, commissioning or official recognition by one's affiliation group to function as a professional chaplain. Maintains good standing in affiliation group.
