Job Description
A CNC machine operator, monitors, and maintains computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to produce precise parts and tools from various materials like metal and plastic. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, calibrating and programming machines, loading raw materials, performing quality inspections, and troubleshooting minor issues to ensure high-quality output according to specifications. Key Responsibilities
Operating tools for tasks such as drilling, milling, and grinding.
Studying and understanding blueprints and technical drawings to guide the manufacturing process.
Loading raw materials, such as metal and plastic, into the machines for processing.
Inspecting finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, using tools like calipers and gauges to verify dimensions.
Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting minor machine problems, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
Monitoring machine operations, making necessary adjustments to maintain precision, and leading test runs. Essential Skills and Qualifications
Understanding of CNC software and hardware, including knowledge of different machine types (e.g., 3-axis, 5-axis) and programming (e.g., G-code).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Strong mathematical abilities for calculations related to machining.
A meticulous approach to ensure precision and adherence to strict tolerances.
Strict adherence to safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
On-the-job CNC machining experience and potentially an associate's degree or technical certification in a related field. Work Environment
