National Grid is hiring an Analyst for our Storms & Business Support group in Upstate NY. This is a Hybrid role that sits in our Syracuse NY Office.

Job Purpose

Work with various stakeholders across the business to prepare accurate and timely Storm filing exhibits for cost recovery. Develop, generate, and analyze reports; apply financial analysis techniques to identify and investigate trends in reported data.

Proactively lead data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to support achievement of work plan goals and regulatory targets. Ensure compliance with company policies, operating procedures, and regulatory expectations regarding the safety and reliability of the company's assets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the review portion of National Grid's storms filing process and work with various stakeholders on completing required packages for filing with the State regulators (NY and MA) to obtain cost recovery for appropriate expenses associated with a storm event.
  • Extract data and analyze information from multiple systems to optimize departmental goals, operational improvements and streamline processes
  • Ensure stakeholder and contractor compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements by providing clear guidance and monitoring adherence.
  • Lead change management initiatives to implement process improvements and behavioral changes that strengthen compliance, including communication plans, training, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Engage and align stakeholders with clear expectations, documented responsibilities, and agreed decision rights to ensure all milestones are delivered on time and to scope.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships to understand requirements, deliver appropriate solutions and coordinate work with other Analysts
  • Administer, analyze, interpret, and implement management policies, operating practices, business controls, and procedures for the functional area
  • Develop proficiency in multiple team functions through cross-training, enabling effective assistance and collaboration when needed.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Business related area and up to 2-5 years of analytical or business support experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, using systems including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization/dashboard development packages is a plus.
  • Ability to research, compile, coordinate, schedule, review, document, organize, verify data, conduct independent analysis and identify inconsistencies.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across organization.

Salary

$70,000 - $82,000 a year
