Job Summary:

The Manager of Meetings and Events is responsible for managing national meetings, launches, manger retreats, internal corporate meetings, and special events in support of the Commercial Organization. This role leads logistics for Marketing convention planning and provides ongoing support, including coordination of quarterly regional meetings, contract and invoice review, and accurate financial tracking of all meeting related expenses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Manages national and internal corporate meetings, ensuring all activities align with departmental and company objectives.
  • Oversee quarterly Plan of Action (POA) meetings as assigned.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Meetings & Events on the site selection for President's Club, Managers' Retreat, Launches, National Sales Meetings, and other assigned meetings.
  • Manages the meeting logistics for President's Club, Managers' Retreat, Launches, National Sales Meeting, and other assigned meetings.
  • Negotiates and finalizes contracts and addendums for Director review and signature.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to coordinate Convention logistics.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams as needed to support meetings and event initiatives.
  • Works closely with Sales Training to support manager's retreats and assigned POA meetings.
  • Develops and reviews meeting timelines to ensure effective planning and execution.
  • Ensures that all meetings and functions are planned, organized, and executed within the pre-determined and individualized budget.
  • Communicate meeting logistics to attendees accurately and in advance to secure the best travel rates.
  • Works closely with all hotels to ensure accuracy for food and beverage orders, and rooming lists.
  • Secures ground transportation and A/V support secured for all meetings.
  • Ensures proper, accurate and timely support material for meetings including, but not limited to office supplies, name badges, tents, itineraries, and agendas.
  • Prepares site registration websites for any large-scale meetings.
  • Works closely with travel agency.
  • Leads the selection and ordering of promotional materials for assigned meetings.
  • Reviews invoices and assists with contracts and proposals.
  • Ensures all expenses are recognized in the month incurred and communicated with Finance.
  • Analyzes budget vs. spend, invoices, and prepares/reviews expense reports to ensure the best rates are in line with meetings budget.
  • Provides onsite meeting support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Provides leadership and management in an effective manner consistent with Company Values towards defined Corporate Objectives.
  • Understands Company Policy and procedure to be able to guide direct reports appropriately.


Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of Meetings Management experience required.
  • Proven experience in event and meeting planning, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Previous experience in corporate meeting planning is preferred.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Lifting Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects of 25 pounds at times.
  • Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 35% to 40% of the time.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $90,000 to $115,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
