Trinitas Regional Medical Center is a full-service healthcare facility serving those living and working in Eastern and Central Union counties. The hospital was established in January 2000, following the consolidation of St. Elizabeth Hospital and Elizabeth General Medical Center. Our Elizabeth, NJ hospital operates on two major campuses. Job Overview:

Serves as the Infection Preventionist for all Trinitas Regional Medical Center sites.

Responsibilities include:

• Identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives of TRMC
• Works in collaboration with medical and nursing teams and other stakeholders to develop a program that promotes sound and scientific infection prevention principles and practices.
• Develops policies governing control of infections and communicable diseases
• Implements policies governing control of infections and communicable diseases
• Conducts surveillance through identifying, reporting, investigating and controlling infections and communicable diseases
• Supervises sterile processing functions.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse:
  • Active New Jersey RN License
  • BSN preferred
  • Infection Control experience is preferred.
  • Acute care experience is required.
  • Current Certification preferred; must sit for the CIC exam within two (2) years & maintain thereafter
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

OR

• Certified Infection Preventionist (IP)
  • BS in Nursing and/or Biology, Medical Technology, or related field required.
  • Two plus years experience as a Certified Infection Preventionist (IP)

Scheduling Requirements:

• 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday
