2026 Summer Internship / CITY Futures

CITY Futures is the grassroots soccer platform for St. Louis CITY SC. Through a variety of

programs, CITY Futures works towards the following goals:


  • Make soccer accessible to all in the St. Louis region
  • Promote life skills through holistic soccer training in safe environments through a network of well-trained Futures coaches
  • Introduce soccer to new communities to build a broader and more diverse fan base
  • Support healthy community in the region through soccer
  • Important Dates
  • 40 Days of Soccer (6/11-7/19) CITY Cup (tentatively 6/13Availability
  • Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • 10-30 hours a week (depending on experience and availability)


Responsibilities


  • 40 Days of Soccer (during World Cup)
  • Planning/logistics, execution of 40 Days of Soccer events
  • Street Soccer, CITY Cup, Purina Summer Camp, Under the Arch, Kickstarts, Girl Scouts, etc.
  • One of the lead coaches on site and organizing play at various Future events
  • Equipment inventory support
  • Street Soccer summer tournaments
  • Plan tournament format for All STL Street Soccer Cup
  • Data tracking for Futures programs
  • Assist in strategic planning for launching our new 501(c)(3)
  • Research funding opportunities for 501(c)(3) (Available grants, research for proposals, etc.)
  • Plan and prepare for the Fall Play On season


Characteristics and Skills


  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • An eagerness to learn and develop knowledge and skills
  • A high standard of work performance and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality results
  • Detail-oriented and organized with effective time management skills
  • Flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs
  • Strong communication skills to effectively work with both internal and external constituents
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


Preferred Experience


  • Coaching (preferably soccer)
  • Playing soccer
  • Familiarity with social and emotional learning
  • Conducting research
  • Nonprofit work or involvement
  • Gathering and analyzing data
