Responsibilities

Master Data Analyst

Massillon, OH (Hybrid)

The Master Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of master data within the organization's ERP systems. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and security of the master data and works to streamline data management processes for better business intelligence and decision-making. The Master Data Analyst collaborates with various departments such as IT, finance, operations, and supply chain to ensure the master data is aligned with business needs.

Your Seat at the Table:

  • Master Data Maintenance:
    • Regularly update and maintain master data records related to customers, suppliers, products, materials, and other critical business data entities ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
    • Review and ensure master data records are in compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Data Quality & Integrity:
    • Perform regular audits of master data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve data quality.
    • Manage data standards, ensuring master data attributes are categorized correctly and aligned with organizational guidelines.
    • Monitor the lifecycle of master data records, including updates, deactivations, and discontinuations, ensuring it is reflected accurately across all systems.
    • Investigate and resolve data-related issues, working closely with other teams to find effective solutions.
  • Data Governance and Compliance:
    • Ensure master data records adhere to privacy laws, regulatory guidelines, and corporate policies.
    • Assist in monitoring and enforcing data governance standards across the organization.
    • Maintain data security standards to protect sensitive master data information.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work with internal teams (IT, business analysts, operations, finance, etc.) to understand data needs and ensure alignment across systems and processes.
    • Provide data support to cross-functional teams to ensure new master data records are correctly set up in the system.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives in data management processes

Qualifications

What you Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data management or related functions.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., D365, SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft excel.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex data issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of business process management (BPM) and process automation.

This role is integral to ensuring that an organization's data is reliable and accessible, providing valuable insights and supporting better business decisions.
