Introduction to the Job

As a Hardware Testing Lab Manager, you will shape the environment that supports the next generation of advanced hardware development at ASML. You will manage multiple laboratory spaces, enable safe and fast experimentation, and ensure that equipment and facilities are always ready for highprecision testing. Your work will help engineers turn ideas into reliable results, supporting ASML's mission to push the boundaries of semiconductor technology.

You will lead daily lab operations, plan future capabilities, and guide the buildout of a new laboratory scheduled for 2027. You will ensure that every setup, test, and process reflects ASML's standards for quality, safety, and collaboration. This role is handson, highly technical, and central to the performance of our hardware teams.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will guide the technical and operational excellence of our laboratory environments. You will work closely with engineers, facilities partners, and technical specialists to support safe, efficient testing.

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple laboratories and ensure consistent safety, quality, and performance.
  • Lead the requirements and design activities for a new laboratory planned for 2027.
  • Support engineers with experiment setup, execution, and troubleshooting to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through training, audits, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage laboratory equipment through inspections, maintenance coordination, and timely repairs.
  • Improve laboratory workflows by identifying upgrades and implementing process enhancements.
  • Develop longterm plans for lab capabilities, including equipment needs, layout planning, and budget requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Ten years of laboratory experience with a bachelor's degree, eight with a master's degree, or six with a PhD.
  • At least three years of experience managing a laboratory or test facility.
  • Handson experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, optical, and control systems.

  • Work with data acquisition systems and basic programming tools.
  • Think strategically and solve problems in a structured way.
  • Communicate clearly across technical and nontechnical teams.
  • Work independently while managing several priorities.
  • Anticipate and resolve technical issues proactively.
  • Create clear, accurate documentation.
  • Stay organized in fastmoving environments.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$117,000-175,500

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
