Introduction

ASML San Diego is looking for talented and motivated engineers to come be part of enabling tomorrows technology thru today's advances in EUV photo lithography, the most technology critical process of semiconductor manufacturing.

Job Mission

The internship will support and ensure ASML quality requirements are met during the manufacturing phase and lead quality improvement strategies to achieve customer satisfaction.

Your Assignment

The Quality Engineer reports into the Quality Department in the San Diego Factory Operational Excellence team, and is responsible to plan and execute parts and process quality initiatives related to EUV, including root cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive action coordination, monitoring quality metrics and conducting internal quality assessments. Coordinates cross functional projects such as LEAN improvement initiative and facilitates FMEA brainstorming and ranking sessions. Creates quality reports to measure and monitor parts and process performance, including SPC metrics. Supports diagramming and evaluating existing processes and executes process improvement projects. Analyzes metrics for product and process measurement and identification of future improvement opportunities. Collects data to help identify root cause of problems and plan solutions. Creates corrective actions reports and presentations as requested.

Education

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a least two years completed or Master's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience

  • Experience with quality reporting and analytics.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead quality improvement projects with cross functional teams.
  • Experience in the application of Statistical Process Control, Regression analysis, Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Measuring System Analysis and Control Plans implementation.
  • Understanding of process flow diagraming and documentation.
  • Ability to use creative and innovative problem diagnosis and solving techniques that will produce performance improvements.
  • Ability to apply process thinking, process design and process improvement methodologies to generate significant measurable benefits (including in depth root cause analysis).
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Experience in executing improvement projects with LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities without jeopardizing project schedule.
  • Data driven decision maker, good negotiation skills, positive attitude.
  • Data mining experience is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Evaluates adherence of the business processes related to Operations by performing internal assessments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings, visits to EUV clean room and meetings, and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $18.00 - $56.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
