Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Charlotte, NC. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Responsible for Materials Laboratory Technician support for the testing and evaluation of components and materials used in turbine generator applications.
  • Additionally, this position will need direct and hands-on support of multiple laboratory testing processes, including but not limited to the use of hand skills to prepare test samples as well as the operation of various types of test equipment for the implementation of testing protocols for materials used in the client's Electrical Generators.
  • The work environment for this position is an industrial laboratory.
  • Deliver hands-on support for laboratory testing and analysis of materials and components used in rotating electrical generators.
  • This will need hands-on work for sample preparation, test equipment operation, etc.
  • Record and communicate test results, observations, and insights to the Materials Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with the Materials Engineering team to support ongoing engineering projects.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $30.71/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week - 1st shift.

Length: Temp (12 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Materials Engineering or Chemistry or Applied Physics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing laboratory environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Materials Engineering or Chemistry or Applied Physics.
  • A strong focus on materials.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Candidates with more experience may be considered for advanced roles and vice versa.
  • Demonstrated interest in materials applications for power generation equipment, particularly rotating electric machinery (generators or motors).
  • Ability to work independently and work together with the laboratory team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency and expertise in hand skills, hand tools.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including MS-Office applications.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or off-shift hours to support critical projects in both office and factory settings.
  • Fork-truck and crane operation experience and proficiency are also beneficial.
