Acquisition Logistics Manager

WORK LOCATION: Lackland AFB, TX

JOB STATUS: Full-Time; Salaried

SECURITY CLEARANCE: MUST have an active Secret security clearance

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Acquisition Logistics Manager supporting the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, which is within the Cyber and Networks Directorate (AFLCMC/HN), and located at Lackland AFB, TX.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of directly related experience, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 15 years of directly related experience in lieu of masters degree, of which 5 years must be in DoD; or 20 years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • Acquisition logistics experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD integrated life-cycle management and integrated logistics support as it applies to the logistics management of acquisition programs, the acquisition lifecycle, and product support planning during each phase.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • COMSEC acquisition or sustainment experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Item Manager

  • Wholesale/retail supply experience
  • Knowledge of requirements planning (procurement)
  • Knowledge of purchase requests
  • Knowledge of processing requisitions
  • Knowledge of AF supply & cataloguing systems such as ELMS, ILS-S, Stock Control system
  • Maintain automated tracking system of equipment, systems, and supplies including the identification of equipment
  • Knowledge in identifying, analyzing, and recording material condition, replacement, and repair
  • Knowledge in the reviewof systems, equipment, and supplies on-hand, due-in, in-transit, turn-in material, and contingency requirement status of items
  • Knowledge with demand, supply, and material support planning
  • Knowledge of Supply Policies andRegulations
  • Knowledge of AF Communications SecurityInstructions and National Policy/Instructions
  • Experience in planning and coordinating material actions
  • Experience with various supply and production management automated systems/products and their interrelationships to effectively plan material support
  • Reviews and maintains appropriate actions to overcome item support deficiencies identified through fill rate and back order reports and listing, and correspondence.
  • Monitors and analyzes assigned items in relation to changes in programming or usage factors.
  • Uses specialized methods and techniques to independently analyze and resolve difficult issues and problem involving processes, work methods, data management, and operational procedures/problems resulting in timely delivery of services to meet the need of customers and the government
  • Determines current and future supply requirements, considering variables such as, cost, existing policies and procedures, data processing requirements, and other issues
  • Analyzes and monitors planned or scheduled materiel requirements for forecasts and funds availability

The Contractor shall be able to direct, develop, or perform logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission, weapons system, or other designated program. The tasks involved include identifying the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services needed to support the program and correlating those requirements with program plans to assure that the needed support is provided at the right time and place. Logistics work requires:

  • Knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle and product support planning during each phase.
  • Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
  • Extensive experience with defense acquisition management processes in accordance with the DoD 5000.
  • Knowledge of the DoD's integrated product support element structure.
  • Familiarity with the Product Support Business Case Analysis (PS-BCA) and Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) processes.
  • Familiarity with accomplishing a Logistics Health Assessment (LHA).
  • Knowledge of the DoD Product Support Manager Guidebook.
  • Knowledge of department/agency policies and procedures related to the implementation and management of a government furnished equipment (GFE) program.
  • Knowledge of department/agency policies and procedures related to the inventory and tracking of accountable property
  • Ability to lead a project team in completing complex projects.
  • Knowledge of agency program planning, funding, and management information systems.
  • Broad knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support.
  • Ability to coordinate and evaluate the efforts of functional specialists to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions needed to meet each requirement on time.
