A Senior Systems Programmer (z/OS) is needed for a 6month hybrid contract in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on designing, installing, maintaining, and enhancing z/OS systems software within an IBM mainframe environment. Key responsibilities include analyzing and implementing system software updates, establishing software standards, evaluating performance, ensuring system security, and supporting other teams through technical guidance and training. Work Environment: Hybrid (Tue-Thu onsite). Twostep interview process. Top Skills * Proficiency in z/OS administration and maintenance * Strong knowledge of IBM mainframe hardware architecture * Experience with zSeries subsystems (CICS, IMS, DB2) * Experience working with and administering Linux on Z (z/VM & KVM) * Understanding of software design, programming, installation, and maintenance * Ability to evaluate and improve software performance * Strong communication, problemsolving, and documentation skills Desired Qualifications * 4-year degree + 8 years IS experience (including 4 in systems programming) * OR 2year technical degree + 10 years IS experience * OR equivalent experience with 4 years in systems programming * Experience establishing and enforcing software standards * Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively * Experience analyzing and implementing software modifications safely * Preferred: * Knowledge or experience with ATTLS * Knowledge or experience with BMC ControlM Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
