Job Purpose: The Senior Accountant will assist the team responsible for SEC reporting and technical accounting research. SEC reporting includes the preparation and review of SEC and external filings including but not limited to the 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K (Earnings Release), Investor Presentation, DEF14A (Proxy). Technical research includes researching complex accounting transactions to ensure they comply with US GAAP and the Company's Uniform Accounting Policies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in execution and review of SEC filings and external reporting (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and DEF 14A, including XBRL) including management discussion and analysis, description of business, financial statements including footnotes and supporting schedules
- Assist in performing accounting research and advising on global business transactions and technical accounting issues, and support the accounting teams in understanding of accounting research and any applicable updates to U.S GAAP reporting that impacts the Company, including but not limited to Revenue Recognition, Business Combinations, Lease Accounting, Goodwill and Debt.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Company's Uniform Accounting Policy in accordance with US GAAP/SEC, driving compliance requirements.
- Assist in execution and seek continual improvement of financial reporting controls for Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) purposes.
- Actively participate in the external audit process which includes ensuring audit schedules are prepared and reviewed on a timely basis and the completion of the audit in a timely manner.
- Special projects & other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years relevant work experience
- Preferred Education: Master's in Accounting or similar graduate degree
- Required Education: 4 yr Degree Accounting Major
- CPA license preferred
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.
- Able to work well with cross functional departments, including legal, finance, and regional accounting groups
- Able to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.
- Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
- Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and accuracy of highly sensitive information (including PII), a well as legally required documentation and reporting
- Experience with using Workiva software preferred
- Able to use other relevant computer systems and applications at an advanced level and quickly learn/adapt to new systems and technology.
- Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and analytical thinking skills and the ability to analyze large data sets
- Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.
- Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills with the ability to exhibit sensitivity to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.
- Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.
- Able to effectively multi-task.
Working Conditions:
- Consistent non-standard work or overtime as business requires.
- On-call availability required as necessary.
- Professional, office environment; hybrid approach where 3 days a week in Clearwater office is required
- Meets attendance and punctuality standards.
