The Opportunity

Do you have a passion for learning and helping to drive critical analysis and discussions related to electric resource planning? At Ulteig, we innovate, we design, and we solve complex challenges for some of the largest utilities and renewable energy developers in the country. As a Resource Planning Analyst Intern in our Power Delivery - Transmission & Distribution (T&D) group, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting resource planning for large scale power networks. This internship will focus on developing your technical, analytical, and communication skills while contributing to real-world studies.

What You'll Do



  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts on electric resource planning studies related to generation, storage, and transmission
  • Perform financial and relevant rate impact analysis for utilities and developers
  • Support larger scale resource planning studies for both utilities and state-level planning agencies
  • Learn and apply software such as PLEXOS to financial analysis
  • Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to the consulting engineering process and concepts
  • Learn how to handle regulatory and legal debates with proper decorum



What You'll Gain

What We Expect from You



  • A desire to fairly consider all generation and storage alternatives while focusing upon fact-based analysis that incorporates uncertainty
  • Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a bachelor's degree in economics, engineering economics, or similar degree
  • Relevant coursework in related financial engineering concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access optional)
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment
  • Demonstrate openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation for this role is $22.50/hr.
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
