Responsibilities

Complies with Regulatory Requirements:

  • Support and maintain all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

  • Operates facility in compliance with all Air Liquide policies

  • Provide regulatory training and maintain required regulatory documentation (ISO documentation, MOC, etc)

  • Keep plant hazard analysis (FMEA and ARA) current and display thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards. Compliance with EIS requirements.

  • Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated and corrective actions are completed

Operates plant safely and reliably:

  • Support the operations of Air Separation Units and backup systems, to ensure safe, reliable, high quality, and efficient supply of product to the customer

  • Provide visible HSE leadership to site technicians and actively champion the Life Critical system. Works to achieve

  • "Zero Accidents"

  • Meet or exceed company safety standards including the fundamental safety rules

  • Perform process troubleshooting.

  • Identify and recommend process changes and plant projects to improve plant HSE, reliability and efficiency

  • Own Key Operating Documents. Maintain updated red-lines at all times. Display detailed understanding of content and significance of each document

  • Ensure GT's are understood and followed by the plant staff

  • Ensure operating procedures are followed and updated as needed

  • Complete MOC and proper documentation process for plant projects and upgrades

  • Partner with the Reliability Center to execute predictive and preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance

  • Partner with the Reliability Team and LFAB Gas Plant Team to execute planned maintenance and unexpected events.

  • Manages, schedules, and executes all aspects of site turnarounds.

  • Set and maintain high housekeeping standards to exemplify and improve the Air Liquide 5S image.

  • Complete assigned action items from audits

  • Write and approve critical work permits (hot work, confined space, etc.)

Manages Costs:

  • Assist in developing plant budget needs

  • Develop cost and economic justification for capital projects

  • Develop and execute capital project scope, cost, and schedule as assigned within time and budget requirements

  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs within delegated authorization

  • Utilize national purchasing agreements and frame agreements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial production facility in the role of plant engineer or other similar plant operations role; utilities, air gas, chemical, or refinery production experience

  • Must be able to wear personal safety equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing

  • Ability to climb ladders

Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
