Security Officer - Power Plant Patrol

As a Security Officer - Power Plant Patrol in Valmy, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols and security-related checks, and stay highly visible to help reduce unwanted activity. You will support access control at entry points, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations in a timely manner. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the chain of command and/or contacting public emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, monitoring deliveries, and documenting entries and exits per site procedures.
• Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports, and communicate observations and/or hazards to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
