Basic Qualifications

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a highly motivated Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to serve as the eWAN ISSM, responsible for establishing, securing, and authorizing GDMS's classified Enterprise-Wide Area Network (eWAN).

This role owns the end-to-end cybersecurity lifecycle of the eWAN-from initial architecture and control implementation through Authorization to Operate (ATO) and sustainment. The eWAN ISSM will act as the primary security authority for the environment and will work closely with Infrastructure, LAA IT, Information Assurance, Security Operations, and government stakeholders to enable resilient, mission-critical classified operations across multiple domains.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated ISSM for the classified eWAN, accountable for security posture, compliance, and authorization outcomes.
  • Lead the stand-up of the eWAN security program, including security architecture design, control implementation, documentation, and integration with enterprise services.
  • Own and execute the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization and Assessment (A&A) lifecycle, leading the system to initial ATO and supporting onboarding of additional programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and defend all required RMF artifacts, including SSPs, SAPs, SARs, POAMs, and supporting evidence.
  • Coordinate and facilitate MOUs, ISAs, and interconnection approvals required to support eWAN operations.
  • Establish and oversee Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) processes to ensure ongoing compliance post-ATO.
  • Conduct security analysis of operational and developmental environments, including threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and risk determinations.
  • Partner with Security Operations to integrate logging, monitoring, incident response, and audit readiness into the eWAN environment.
  • Ensure configuration management, asset inventory, and auditing processes support authorization and sustainment requirements.
  • Serve as the primary interface with government customers, assessors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders for cybersecurity compliance and risk decisions.
  • Lead, support, and remediate findings from external audits, inspections, and assessments.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

  • Active certification meeting IAM Level III requirements (e.g., CISSP, GSLC, or CISM).
  • 5+ years of experience implementing cybersecurity policies and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements in classified environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with DAAPM, CNSSI 1253, ICD 503, JSIG, and/or NIST SP 800-series guidance.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)

  • 5+ years of experience as an ISSM supporting classified systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a system through initial ATO, including coordination with assessors and Authorizing Officials.
  • Hands-on experience with RMF-related tools and technologies (e.g., NESSUS, ACAS, DISA STIGs, SCAP, HBSS).
  • Experience developing, briefing, and defending RMF documentation packages.
  • Project management experience; CAPM or PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to brief executives, technical teams, and government customers.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate cross-functional teams.


Target salary range: USD $142,696.00/Yr. - USD $158,303.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
