Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Hospital Patrol Driver in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a healthcare location where you will conduct mobile patrols, perform security-related rounds, and respond to incidents with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, and an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. You will help to deter unwanted activity through a visible presence, detailed reporting, and teamwork that reflects our agile, reliable, and people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to Allied Universal leadership and/or on-site contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, assist with visitor direction and/or sign-in procedures, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to the appropriate parties.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation; communicate relevant information during shift transitions to support continuity of operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton are preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
