Overview

The Hydraulics Frame Maintenance Mechanic supports the inspection, preventative maintenance, and repair of hydraulic frames and related components. This role is ideal for a developing hydraulics or mechanical technician with 1-3 years of experience who is gaining proficiency in regulated maintenance environments. More complex repairs are coordinated with the equipment manufacturer (OEM) or approved service providers. The position supports a growing fleet of hydraulic frames by year-end, and is responsible for maintaining inspection records in compliance with Nadcap requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in equipment maintenance providing a high level of troubleshooting maintenance issues in a safe and efficient manner.

Salary: $24- $30/hour (Depending on Experience)



Responsibilities

    Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic/rudimentary repairs on hydraulic frames, testing equipment, and associated systems

  • Proactively identify and address potential issues to minimize machine downtime and support continuous production

  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on testing and facilities equipment to resolve maintenance issues and restore functionality, escalating complex issues as required

  • Coordinate with senior technicians, engineering, or OEM service providers for advanced or non-routine repairs

  • Develop, execute, and follow preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and auditable records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks, in accordance with Nadcap requirements

  • Conduct machinery repairs to maintain operational efficiency and equipment readiness

  • Support other facility maintenance and repair activities as needed

  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components for timely repairs

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and documentation practices

  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available



Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or hydraulics-related work (experience with hydraulic equipment such as basic valve replacement, seals, fittings, or similar components is a plus)

  • Basic ability to read and interpret technical manuals, work instructions, and schematics

  • Foundational troubleshooting skills for mechanical and basic electrical issues across a variety of equipment types, with the ability to escalate complex issues appropriately

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues

  • Strong commitment to safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while managing time effectively

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document maintenance activities and communicate technical information clearly

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Work Environment
  • Work performed in an aerospace manufacturing, laboratory, and/or maintenance shop environment

  • Regular exposure to hydraulic systems, testing equipment, machinery, and facilities infrastructure

  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized systems, electrical components, noise, grease, oils, and varying temperatures

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during inspections, maintenance, and repair activities

  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders or platforms, and work in confined or elevated spaces as required

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Manual dexterity required for the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

  • Visual acuity sufficient to read gauges, schematics, manuals, and inspection documentation

  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other protective gear, is mandatory in designated areas

  • Work may be performed independently or as part of a cross-functional team, requiring coordination with operations, engineering, quality, and facilities personnel

  • May require flexible scheduling, including occasional overtime, to support production demands, preventative maintenance schedules, audits, and facility needs
