Our Georgia-Pacific Leaf River Cellulose facility is searching fora Summer Electrical & Instrumentation Intern. A successful individual will be self-motivated, passionate about learning, and interested in pursuing an Electrical & Instrumentation or Automation career. A modified schedule may be considered but primary work hours are Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm. The pay for the position will be $20.80 per hour.

Our products include chemical cellulose, custom fibers, and nonwoven materials that are used in products such as diapers, baby wipes and coffee filters. What You Will Do

  • Learn and apply principles of electrical safe work practices and design of automation system within a manufacturing environment
  • Work within the E&I teams learning to apply basic calibration methods for pressure, level, flow, temperature, and analytical instrumentation
  • Learn and apply skills including drawing interpretation, basic three phase motor controls, electrical distribution, and PLC interfacing
  • Shadow E&I teams during routine preventative maintenance tasks and on troubleshooting calls
  • Demonstrate the ability to work safely by identifying hazards and adhering to safety requirements
  • Utilize and/or learn a variety of instrumentation technology, including but not limited to; standard pressure/temperature/level/flow to analyzers such as pH, ORP, and conductivity
  • Utilize and/or learn control systems to include Rockwell Automation programmable logic controllers and Honeywell distributed control systems along with various safety programmable logic controllers

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in a certificate, degree, workforce training, or accredited post-secondary Technology program in one or more of the following: Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Automation & Controls, Instrumentation & Controls, Industrial Electronics, and/or Electronics

  • Experience with and an understanding of electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment
