Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join the Pillarsetty Lab as a Research Technician! You will join a lab focused on radiopharmaceutical and drug development and validation, performing a range of laboratory techniques and using specialized equipment to help accelerate discoveries that improve patient outcomes.

Role Overview:

  • Laboratory Support & Operations: Prepare and maintain lab equipment and supplies; set up experiments; restock consumables; maintain general lab organization; perform routine cleanup, decontamination, and waste disposal according to lab policies.
  • Research Techniques & Assays: Conduct chemical, radiochemical, biochemical, and biological experiments, including in vitro cell culture and assay-based workflows; with experience, perform portions of experiments-and eventually complete experiments-independently.
  • Radioactive Sample Handling: Work with radioactive materials and samples in accordance with radiation safety requirements, including proper shielding, storage, documentation, and disposal procedures.
  • In Vivo / Ex Vivo Work: Support in vivo cancer studies in small and large animal models; process ex vivo tissues from animal models and ex vivo human-derived samples in accordance with approved protocols.
  • Data Collection & Documentation: Record procedures and results in a timely, well-documented laboratory notebook; assemble and organize experimental data for analysis and reporting.
  • Training, Safety & Compliance: Complete all required safety and compliance training; follow institutional and laboratory procedures, including radiochemical handling requirements.
  • Preparation & Continuous Learning: Review relevant literature and attend required courses/seminars to support experimental planning and execution.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. (radioactive shipments may arrive in lead-shielded containers weighing ~20-40 lbs.).

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry/biology/life sciences.
  • Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting.

Additional Information:

Pay Range: $26.21 - $39.24 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
