Summary: The Truck Driver - Box Truck (non CDL) is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to pick up and deliver donations and other items. This role ensures the proper handling of donations and works collaboratively with the logistics team to optimize routes and maintain service standards.
Essential Functions: 1. Safely operate company vehicles to collect and deliver donations from designated locations, adhering to assigned routes and schedules to meet daily collection goals. 2. Load, secure, and unload donations efficiently, ensuring goods are handled properly to prevent damageduring transport. 3. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to plan and optimize truck routes, streamlining themovement of donations and supplies while controlling costs and adapting to changing demands. 4. Promptly notify the supervisor of any shortages in donated goods or operational issues encounteredduring routes. 5. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe working condition, reporting anyimmediate maintenance needs. 6. Maintain accurate and detailed logs for daily operations, including collection and delivery records, vehiclemileage, fuel usage, donation records, and notable incidents during the shift. 7. Guide the truck helper's activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. 8. Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies,reporting accidents, vehicle issues, or traffic violations immediately to the Logistics Manager or Director of Sustainability & Logistics. 9. Adhere to safety standards and traffic laws while driving, including wearing seat belts, following roadsafety protocols, and practicing defensive driving techniques to prevent accidents. 10. Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and safety equipment, promptly reporting any safety concerns, accidents, or needed repairs. 11. Follow safety protocols for loading, unloading, and operating vehicles. 12. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle to ensure a professional appearance and promote safety for all drivers. 13. Interact professionally with donors, providing friendly and courteous service during donation pickups, addressing concerns, and maintaining a positive company image. 14. Resolve customer service issues by effectively communicating with donors and internal teams, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment by collaborating with colleagues and assisting with warehouse operations when truck driving duties are not required or have been completed. 15. Attend training sessions, meetings, and company-related events as required. 16. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. 17. Adhere to all Goodwill policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: * Proficiency in digital literacy, including basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, and company-specific software tools. * Strong written communication skills with the ability to effectively read, write, and create reports and professional business correspondence. * Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from supervisors, team members, and customers. * Basic mathematical proficiency, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. * Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, team members, and internal and external customers. * Positive and friendly attitude, contributing to a collaborative work environment and enhancing team morale.
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Experience: * High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. * Certified Forklift Operator - Certification required to safely operate forklifts. Goodwill will provide the necessary training and certification to ensure compliance. * Prior experience in logistics or transportation, vehicle maintenance, and overseeing product movement, is preferred. * Ability to successfully complete and maintain first aid.
Special Requirements: * Personal vehicle usage is required for this position, including a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and the ability to provide proof of insurance for driving on company business. * An acceptable motor vehicle record, based on Goodwill guidelines, is required for driving a personal or company vehicle. * Must provide a cell phone for specified work responsibilities, including the use of a phone-based application for authentication. * Must successfully complete a state background investigation and drug screen.

Work Environment: * Warehouse and transportation environment. * Ability to travel frequently to multiple locations and overnight as needed. * May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational demands. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud.
