Description

The Training Coordinator supports in the development, coordination and implementation of learning and training activities within the manufacturing site. This role will work within multiple functional areas at the plant level to develop standardized training modules and programs across the site.

Salary Role, Monday - Friday, 7am -3pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing training plans based on site needs and assessments
  • Responsible for implementing standardized organization training and using systems and processes identified by the team
  • Foster a culture of continual learning and development to engage and retain talent
  • Work with leadership team to identify site needs and training gaps to employ in development of customized training solutions
  • Work closely with Supervisors, and others on team, on Career Progression Program, ensuring that program is followed and administered by guidelines
  • Coordinate new employee training per managements needs/requirements
  • Provide classroom instructional training for employees, as needed, utilizing appropriate training materials and personnel
  • Identify and implement process improvement activities for training employees with appropriate site managers, as needed
  • Maintains records of training activities and ensure training documents are properly maintained
  • Act as a change agent by encouraging positive attitudes and behaviors towards training
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and correct any issues that arise
  • Practice and encourage safe behaviors and ensure that all safety procedures are followed
  • Develop/facilitate plant-wide training in as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Knowledge/ Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience developing or delivering training in a manufacturing environment, full site or multi-functional experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required; Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership or similar degree preferred
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles preferred
  • Understanding of Training Within Industry (TWI) and ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate)
  • Able to read and understand training material and policies

Competencies:

  • Good oral, written, presentation, interpersonal communication, and team facilitation skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees including management and internal and external customers
  • Ability to present information accurately and effectively to diverse audiences
  • Ability to anticipate problem areas and implement effective solutions before problems occur
  • Working knowledge of safety disciplines, Company specific safety policies and procedures, and common industrial safety practices
  • Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices.

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English with strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic Spanish as a second language preferred

Computer Skills:

  • Must be capable of using a computer to write and develop training documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word understanding and use (i.e. writing formulas, conditional formatting, tables, etc.)

  • Employee will primarily be working or training inside in a climate controlled office environment in order to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Employee will conduct training in a semi-climate-controlled environment or on the production floor in order to perform job instruction on machines and auxiliary equipment
  • May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property
  • May travel via car or airplane to various work locations
  • Light to moderate physical effort required

Travel: May travel to other facilities as necessary. Travel will fluctuate based on business need to go to other start up plants. Travel could be up to 10% during the year.
