Position Overview

The Director, PO Commercial Liaisons is responsible for leading the Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) team and the Hereditary Cancer Liaisons. The CSL function is a non-sales role responsible for clinical sales support during client interactions. The HCL function is a sales role that promotes our inherited cancer product Riskguard and our MCED product, CancerGuard. The individual in this role must have in-depth knowledge of oncology diagnostics and associated disease states. In addition, they will have to have a deep understanding of Exact Precision Oncology products and services in order to understand and identify what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. The Director is also responsible for ensuring their team is properly trained and certified on Exact Precision Oncology products. Additionally, they will assist in business planning, team strategy, CRM protocols, and policies and procedures.

This position is field based.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain extensive clinical and technical knowledge of Precision Oncology products, policies, and procedures.
  • Hire, train, mentor and coach CSL & HCL team members. This includes training new CSLs and HCLs on protocols and company culture.
  • Guide the team with utilizing appropriate sales techniques to achieve revenue goals.
  • Develop and maintain ways of working with the sales team, medical affairs team and other collaborative partners to ensure compliant partnerships to drive business outcomes.
  • Identify, through strategic planning, opportunities to work with HCPs, clinicians and key stakeholders to drive adoption and growth of PO product use.
  • Remove obstacles and roadblocks to selling company's products and services.
  • Provide on-the-ground support for and leadership to the team as they generate leads and build relationships.
  • Create strong relationships with internal stakeholders in order to appropriately escalate and incorporate team needs into company initiatives and procedures.
  • Participate in the implementation and support of company strategies and initiatives.
  • Share regular feedback on team's activities and performance in relation to established goals using appropriate tools and resources including business plans, Veeva, Tableau.
  • Partnering with other key stakeholders, ensure an effective CRM system and reporting capabilities that enable the sales team to carry out their sales plans and meet revenue goals.
  • Control expenses and ensure sales activity is within established budgets.
  • Assist with planning and organizing on-site sales meetings.
  • Work with internal partners to ensure consistent lead generation.
  • Provide the senior leadership team with market intelligence gathered by the sales team regarding test development, client services, operations, and marketing.
  • Participate in company-sponsored trade shows, conferences, and meetings.
  • Maintain current industry and sales knowledge and act upon market dynamics and trends to address client needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients. Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of PreventionGenetics' relationship with them.
  • Ensure national sales goals are met.

  • Ability to travel 50% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of sales experience in oncology.
  • 5+ years direct people leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead others either directly or indirectly.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
  • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
  • No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (i.e., Masters) in business, sales, marketing, related field
  • Clinical experience
  • Experience in precision medicine, genetics, oncology testing and/or biotech industries.
  • Knowledge of genetics and genomics.

Salary Range:

204,000.00- 306,000.00

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
