WAGE RANGE: $25 - $29 | OT ELIGBLE!!

Position Summary

Welder, Level II is an individual who works within a fast paced, sheet metal shop environment focusing on on-time delivery of parts. This person possesses a strong work ethic, is willing to learn and asks questions about manufacturing processes. They work respectfully within a team and our accountable for their work. This welder is responsible for welding a variety of different materials including carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. Moderate blueprint reading skills and understanding of assembling weldments are crucial in this position. The Welder II can accomplish all summarized tasks with little to no assistance.
Essential Functions
  • Handle parts with care to avoid damage to finishes
  • Apply different types of welds including TIG, MIG and spot
  • Weld a variety of different metals and thicknesses from .050" to .250"
  • Able to grind welds per print
  • Clean and basic maintenance on welders and water coolers with little assistance
  • Set up and adjust welder for various thicknesses
  • Daily inspections of equipment
  • Inspection of your own parts before first piece inspection
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Function in a safe and reliable manner to prevent personal injury and/or property damage
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Technical Competencies
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to independently fabricate a weldment with minimal assistance using a blueprint
  • Ability to be flexible on daily tasks
  • Ability to work both individually and as a team
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
Education & Professional Experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years' experience welding in manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc. and handle and feel parts of various size
  • Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift
  • Ability to push, pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout the workday
  • Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
  • Manufacturing environment where temperatures drastically change from season to season
  • Environment where the following exposures exist: loud noise, moving mechanical parts and exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Exposure to hazards including, but not limited to intense light created by the arc and extremely hot materials
Work Hours/Travel
  • 1s Shift / 5 8-hour shifts / Monday - Friday
  • Overtime as necessary
  • Travel N/A
