DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Assistant Maintenance Superintendent role, you will participate in administrative, supervisory, and technical work directing a complex program of building maintenance, heating, and utility operations for the YHA. Communication skills are key for constant interaction with vendors, contractors, and other departments who help our team provide affordable housing to the people in our community. We will rely on you to ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Maintenance Superintendent in planning, supervising, and coordinating maintenance and repair operations.
- Supervising various maintenance employees by assigning tasks to staff, monitoring performance, and providing training.
- Maintaining records related to equipment, maintenance schedules, staff attendance, and work completed.
- Overseeing the acquisition and distribution of the fiscal, material, and manpower resources to provide for preventive, operational, and emergency maintenance.
- Preparing reports and assisting in the development of budgets and Agency Plans.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the maintenance and repair or construction of buildings or facilities.
- College or technical school study with major emphasis on mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or the engineering or construction technologies may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required non-supervisory experience.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within York County. If no eligible candidates who live within York County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
