Wellesley MA Full time R0014385 The Student Success Advisor provides academic and personal advising and case management services to about 375 undergraduate students (actual cohort size fluctuates between semesters). Using a holistic approach, Student Success Advisors work to empower, educate, and support students from matriculation to graduation. Specific responsibilities include: advising students through course selection and registration; overseeing the progress of students on academic probation; approving leave of absences and course withdrawals; approving advanced placement credits; auditing academic progress toward degree completion; providing referral and follow-up services to students in personal crisis; working collaboratively with partner offices to ensure students receive timely information and support related to their Babson experience; and developmental programming and overseeing one or more of the following areas: Commencement Committee, Weissman Scholars program, Peer Success Advisor (PSA) program, departmental workshops, academic success programs, transfer and first-generation students, exchange students, undergraduate awards ceremonies, departmental websites and technology tools, social media accounts, analysis of various data sets, and future departmental initiatives. YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE May supervise graduate assistants, interns, and/or student employees. WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED Master's Degree (Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field) A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with students in an advising capacity Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to and empathy with the developmental needs of today's college students Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Workday and Salesforce or other student information systems Ability to understand and make use of relevant student information and data to provide individualized advising services, support student success interventions, and implement targeted programming Must be flexible and willing to assume new tasks and special projects. Must be capable of effectively managing a student crisis and follow up with all appropriate parties in support of their academic, personal, and professional success. Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; to take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions. HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK Requires occasional evening and weekend work throughout the academic year. Requires work onsite for a minimum of 2 days a week (more days onsite required during the fall and spring semesters); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need. This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), who by virtue of their College responsibilities and under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, is an individual to which students and employees should report criminal offenses. A CSA shall forward all reports in accordance with the College's reporting structure so they may be assessed for timely warning, inclusion in the daily crime log and inclusion in annual statistical disclosures. This is an exempt position with the following pay range: $72,384 - $80,427; the role is also eligible for bonuses based on performance and budget. Babson College offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees working at least 28 hours per week.
