Job Description

Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video circuits, and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

  • Interpret RA and customer documentation(drawings, specifications,workorders, schematics, and others)
  • Ability to download software ontoPLC(s)
  • Verify wiring in physical cabinet compared to schematic requirements "power offpoint-to-pointcheck."
  • Verify that all components installed are correct per customerrequirements.
  • Verify that all labeling is correctly located and applied per customer requirements.
  • Verify that the general organization and presentation of thewiring and assembly is astatically pleasing.
  • Verify that voltage on drawings matchcomponent ratings.
  • Select and connect facility test power lead(s)to assembled cabinets.
  • Executehigh voltagepower checks with high voltage powered up.
  • Execute low voltage power checks with high voltage powered up.
  • Perform all key responsibilities of an engineering technician level 3.
  • Aidall other techniciansas required based onworkloadand requested/assigned.
  • Perform any in process quality checks as required.
  • Assist in the training oflower-levelEngineering technicians.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics is arequirement.Experiencein engineered toorder manufacturing is arequirement.
  • High level oftroubleshooting capabilities when diagnosingcomplex electrical assemblies when not functioning as designed/specified.
  • High School diploma or equivalent minimum
  • Requiresacomprehensiveunderstanding of how to interpret customer and RA documentationand requirements and transform them into physicalproductas well as how to test finishedproductto verify that it is correct.
  • Must be able to visualize physicalproductbasedoffsaid requirements. From this visualization anddocumentation,they must be able toidentify thatthe correct components, wiring, and labels were used.To accomplish these tasks the person must have good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, havebasicmath skills,organization, and attention to detail.
  • Consistency anduniformityare critical to this role as there will be times when multiple of the same product will be produced and all need tobe consistenttothe customer.
  • The person must possessahigh level ofunderstandinginthe function, risks,and theory ofelectricity.
  • Demonstrate customer focus by understanding and incorporating customer and engineering requirements into work product.
  • Strong sense of ownership in completing work, but willing to ask for helpand questions and engage engineering,as needed.
  • Interaction between upstream and downstream process team members
  • Collaborates effectively with team members and actively engages peers from a problem-solving perspective.
  • This role must be meticulous, objective,self-driven, and able to give constructive feedback to team members.
  • Expected to convey best practices to all team members working on customer product.
  • Assist team lead as requested or in their absence.

Basic Qualification:

  • High School diploma or equivalent minimum
  • Minimum of6years inRAelectrical assemblyor Associates /Bachelors degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of6years inRAelectrical assemblyOR Associates or Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years ingeneralelectrical assembly.

  • This role needs to be customer focused and rely on what is defined by our customers and engineersfirst then their knowledge and experience.
  • This role is expected to be a process expert in all areas of cabinet assembly anddefine what "correct" is when balancing customer and RA requirements, both explicate and implicate.
  • This role needs to be confident toexecute on their ownand have confidence in their decisions,however,engage Engineering whennecessary.
  • This role is expected to conveybestpractices to all team membersworking on customerproduct.
  • This rolehas tobe meticulous,objective,self-driven,and able togive constructive feedback to team members.
  • This role is expected toprovide mentorship and training to developing team members so the ability to train and lead is a requirement.
  • The majority ofthe time this roleexecutesas anindividual, however interaction with upstream and downstream process team members is frequent. Inaddition,this role will interact with others in the sametype ofroleand are expected to engage others in the same role type for problem solving situations.
  • This role will have aminimallevel of supervisionand a great level of autonomy.Workload will be aligned to this role byeither interacting with the assemblyarea, master schedule, or leaderand will be expected to work unsupervised through the duration of said project for the duration of their workscope.
  • May be expected to workovertimeduring theweekand/orweekend.
  • This role is expected tocontribute to andparticipate in strategicbusinessinitiatives that will be focused onimproving safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Performcomplexproblemsolvingskillson product theyaretesting and verifying.This role is expected toable to make decisionsin regards towhat is correct, and where there is ambiguity or this role is unclear as to what is correct, be able to contact the correctindividuals and drive resolution.
