Job Description

Geotechnical Project Engineer

Responsibilities

This position is more than soil testing or writing geotechnical reports. Our project engineers use geotechnical reports to design a variety of geotechnical ground improvement, deep foundation,,and support of excavation solutions. This position involves close coordination with senior engineers, sales managers, and on-site project teams to deliver design-build geotechnical products. This role works directly to support the engineering needs of the Northeast region.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical coursework
  • Master's Degree preferred but not required
  • 0 to 4 years of relevant experience within geotechnical engineering
  • EIT Certification (or expected within 1 year)
  • Good communication skills including technical writing
  • Located within eastern PA, New York, or New Jersey
  • Applicants must have US work authorization to be considered.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Review of project geotechnical data and structural information
  • Assist senior engineers in developing preliminary designs for a variety of proprietary ground improvement products and support of excavation systems
  • Assisting in cost estimating, design plan, and specification review, working closely with sales and construction management staff.
  • Prepare final design drawings and calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer for use of ICOP's project managers and project design team.
  • Respond to field issues and design updates during construction of ground improvement, deep foundation, and support of excavation projects.
  • Travel to and monitor load tests


Physical Requirements

  • This position is remote within the Eastern PA, New York, New Jersey area, with weekly site visits expected.
  • Semi-yearly visits to the head office in Purcellville, VA
