The Opportunity

The Roustabout B reports to the Manger, US Facilities Service, Roustabout A (acting lead person) and Facilities Team Lead. Primary responsibility is assisting and performing general facility up-keep and minor repairs to equipment and facilities components as assigned.

This position is represented by United Steelworkers Local 628 and is subject to the terms and conditions of the governing collective bargaining agreement.

Primary Duties

• Perform general facility upkeep including maintaining light fixtures, replacing ceiling tile, replacing carpet, miscellaneous painting, cleaning and other activities required to maintain TC Energy facilities

• Responds to multiple requests from facilities employees and team leads for assistance in a variety of areas.

• Maintains inventory of spare parts, materials and chemical inventory list used at the facility.

• Maintains first aid kits, to include monthly inventory and product replacement

• Maintains auxiliary structures above ground by painting of piping and exposed metalwork.

• Uses hand and power tools, such as, electric drills, vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers, paint brushes, scrubbing brushes, and mops.

• Provides service to keep building, grounds and parking lots clean, neat, and attractive by performing duties such as maintaining lawn area by cutting grass, weeding, fertilizing, and reseeding, landscaping and snow removal.

• Assists archives and business units with the physical movement of records and documents.

• Assists with office buildouts and furniture moves

• Assists with logistics related to special arrangements of the cafeteria and auditorium to accommodate various public and civic group functions during and outside of normal business hours as needed.

• Assists with inspections, visually and mechanically, and performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs and adjustments to handling equipment, pumps, electric motors, air conditioning equipment, electric engine generator plant, plumbing equipment, air compressor, pneumatic control system. Exercises equipment to keep same in state of readiness.

• Assists with management of manifests related to the shipping and transport of Hazardous Waste

• Complete work orders via BlueWorx as assigned

• Deliver facility mail and packages

• Order materials and equipment from approved vendors

Periodic Duties

• Operates forklift and to move, load, and unload materials and documents

• Coordinate office and furniture moves and logistics related to special arrangementsof the cafeteria and auditorium to accommodate various public and civic groupfunctions during and outside of normal business hours as needed.

• Assists with inspections, visually and mechanically, and performs preventivemaintenance and minor repairs and adjustments to handling equipment, pumps, electric motors, air conditioning equipment, electric engine generator plant, plumbing equipment, air compressor, pneumatic control system while under the leadership of the building electrician and (or) O&M Team

• Travel to other locations under the direction of facilities team lead to perform like tasksat remote locations

Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Trade certificate or technical diploma preferred.

• Formal training or experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, or other general maintenance disciplines preferred.

• Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.

• Be available for overtime, extended work hours including weekends, and callouts asneeded.

• Be available for weekend shift rotation as required

• Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or trainingwhich would involve some overnight stays away from home

Additional Information:

Average working conditions. Ability to periodically work in confined, cramped, dark spaces and equipment housings. And other periodic disagreeable elements. Extent of injury could result in permanent disability or death. Repetitive work of mechanical nature. Must be able to lift, carry, pull and/ or push materials, tools etc. up to 90 pounds.
