Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers' missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.

Utilizing your creativity and innovative engineering skills, you'll participate in engineering teams supporting experiment design, materials, equipment setup and maintenance and related issues as well as perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting and repairing of devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems. You'll also provide technical expertise to customers, users or company personnel either at domestic or international field sites.

The Software Asset Management (SAM) Project Specialist is responsible for managing program specific software assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance, optimizing license utilization, and supporting procurement processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, stakeholder engagement, and attention to detail to maintain accurate software inventory records and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track, manage, and reconcile software licenses, entitlements, subscriptions, and renewals to optimize utilization
  • Maintain accurate software inventory records in SAM tools (e.g., Maximo/Teams)
  • Support compliance audits and remediation activities to improve the organization's software compliance
  • Generate timely reports on software usage, compliance trends, and optimization opportunities
  • Manage software request processes and provide effective support to internal stakeholders
  • Assist with procurement activities, including vendor communications, quote requests, and creation of engineering instructions (EI) for purchase order processing
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and program teams for efficient software lifecycle management
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and deliver presentations on SAM initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Software Asset Management or related roles
  • Experience with software license models and compliance management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite, generative AI and data management tools
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize work according to business needs
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field
  • Prior experience in IT procurement processes
  • Understanding of software publisher licensing agreements (e.g., Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware)
