Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 2 to support the Fort Meade Customer in a mission-critical environment. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration, infrastructure troubleshooting, and enterprise systems integration. The Systems Engineer will support compute, network, and storage environments while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to maintain and enhance operational capabilities.



Responsibilities

    Provide systems engineering support for Linux-based environments, including command-line administration and troubleshooting.
  • Perform basic scripting and automation using Bash.
  • Support infrastructure components including virtualization, networking, and storage platforms.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues across compute, storage, and network layers.
  • Assist with system configuration, integration, and sustainment activities.
  • Collaborate with network, storage, and virtualization teams to support enterprise environments.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Support operational maintenance, upgrades, and system optimization efforts.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience administering Linux systems, including command-line navigation, troubleshooting, and basic Bash scripting.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve system-level issues in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, mission-focused environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with VMware vSphere.
  • Experience with Cisco networking technologies, including NXOS, IOS, or ACI.
  • Experience with NetApp storage systems.
  • Experience using Puppet for configuration management.


Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
