Responsibilities for this Position

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The System Engineering & Integration Team (SE&IT) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the System Design and Requirements Capability team in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will lead efforts to integrate Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities and tools within the System Design and Requirements (SD&R) capability team, as well as coordinating MBSE efforts across other program and customer teams. This includes taking an administrative role with the program's model and metamodel, hosted in Cameo. Collaborative efforts include integrating the program model with customer models at multiple levels and adding additional capabilities to the functional model, such as Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (RAM) analysis and parametric integration of numerical profiles. The candidate will facilitate the team's use of the model to conduct functional and behavior analysis for the defeat of conventional and advanced Threats (i.e., ballistic, aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.) systems within the (MDA) mission areas. The System Engineer will collaborate in an MBSE environment to maintain the model, support development of system-of-systems requirements via system/component trade studies and analysis, and lead the development of Change Notices (CNs) to MDA's system specification to include functional, interface and performance requirements, architectural models, interface definitions, and support Trace verification from System to Element level requirements. The Systems Engineer will develop and deliver products (i.e., technical briefings) to support internal and MDA stakeholder reviews. Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The System Engineer must demonstrate a strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition and allocation of requirements (performance, functional and interface definition) with system-modelling tools. Candidate must have strong prior experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS and demonstrated knowledge in any of the MDA domain areas; including Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF). Candidate must have experience maintaining architecture models and metamodels. Demonstrated experience leading and briefing design reviews from the model, I.e. Digital Design Review. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations and discussions. The individual must possess good communication/presentation skills and be capable of working both independently and within a small team environment. The successful candidate will work in close coordination with the customer.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.). Experience administrating an architecture model. Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (i.e., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.). Knowledge of integrating AI techniques within MBSE practices to optimize productivity and enhance quality .

Workplace Options:
This position is fully on-site at the Boeing JetPlex.

Target salary range: USD $142,696.00/Yr. - USD $158,303.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
