Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Defense Mission and Health Solutions Sector, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) team. This position requires a motivated individual with an expert knowledge of Word and other Microsoft Office products. Role is based out of Windsor Mill, MD and has option to work on site.

What you'll do:

    Familiar with design layout
  • Knowledge of Section 508 Compliancy formatting
  • Ability to work with remotely, utilizing multiple communication tools
  • Team player/willingness to support team members
  • Adapts quickly to new systems, tools, and processes
  • Interested in learning new skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update the system documentation for the DME
  • Research mainframe programs/systems to document data
  • Develop internal newsletters and presentations (require grammatical accuracy and design skills)
  • Update organizational charts and system flows, using Visio
  • Review/format documents being posted on multiple websites for grammar
  • Work under pressure to meet all contract deliverable dates
  • Review/format documents for Section 508 compliance


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA
  • Experience using Visio and Adobe Pro
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), especially Word
  • Ability to work well under tight time constraints, with a commitment to getting projects delivered on time
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience taking technical information and translating it to user-friendly terminology
  • Ability to take key points from an interview and write an article
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
