The Head of Subsection HSB PM BA is accountable for building and maintaining a highly skilled team of Program and Project Managers, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and Agile Coaches who enable successful delivery across the organization. This role drives agile transformation, removes delivery obstacles, and ensures timely issue resolution to keep initiatives on track.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Alignment: Aligning initiatives to business objectives and ensuring priorities support organizational goals
  • Governance: Ensuring alignment of standards with GSI and MRe mandates, monitoring quality, and optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact
  • People Leadership: Mentoring teams, fostering strong communication, resolving conflicts, and developing delivery capabilities
  • Process Excellence: Standardizing methodologies, leveraging data and tools to improve efficiency, and managing portfolios to deliver consistent value

Through these pillars, the Head of PMO ensures disciplined execution, accelerates transformation, and supports the organization's strategic priorities.

What You Will Lead:
  • Portfolio & Financial Management
    • Own end-to-end portfolio financials: annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting
    • Partner with the Business Transformation Office (BTO) to ensure alignment of portfolio
    • Lead annual and quarterly portfolio planning and investments, incorporating Agile value streams, roadmaps, and capacity constraints
    • Monitor, correct and train when required Project Managers to ensure portfolio data integrity, forecasting accuracy, and alignment to GSI financial processes and expectations
    • Drive consistent Clarity usage, data quality, and reporting discipline throughout the enterprise
    • Champion change by training PMs and business leaders to elevate financial and reporting maturity
  • Resource, Capacity & Team Leadership
    • Lead and continuously develop the PMO organization, including Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Program Managers, Agile Coaches, and Business Analysts
    • Partner with Head of IT Operations to clearly document enterprise capacity and resource management practices across project, product, and value stream teams
    • Align talent and skills with demand through forward looking capacity planning and scenario analysis
    • Coach PMO staff and delivery leaders on Agile mindset, Enabling leadership, and outcome based delivery
  • Executive Reporting & Communication
    • Build and deliver clear, decision ready executive reporting using Power BI dashboards, portfolio scorecards, and financial summaries
    • Translate complex portfolio, financial, and delivery data into concise, outcome focused insights for executive leadership
    • Lead portfolio financial reviews and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
    • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, from delivery teams to senior executives
  • Outcomes & Continuous Improvement
    • Establish KPIs to measure portfolio performance, financial outcomes, delivery predictability, and value realization
    • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics, and datadriven decision making
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology, Engineering or similar qualification
  • At least 10 years of relevant IT transformation program management, financial management, and change management experience
  • Excellent understanding of primary and reinsurance
  • Ability to work in complex organization structures, and tenaciously forge a path for delivery
  • Ability to oversee Agile transformation with flexibility.
  • A self-motivated individual able to work with varying organizational and geographic styles
  • Proven project management / Agile skills, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, strong experience in managing the diverging interests of various stakeholders
  • Team oriented with the ability to successfully negotiate and mediate conflicts/issues
  • Advanced knowledge of program and project management, Clarity, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Supervisory and leadership skills
  • Interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Analytical (proven problem solver) skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take ambiguity and create clarity
