Description

OVERVIEW:

The Utility Worker cleans and maintains the food service equipment and preparation areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Clean and maintain food service equipment and preparation areas
  • Perform general janitorial tasks
  • Maintain warehouse & dining area cleanliness
  • Supervise program participants and their assigned chores
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Ensure the kitchen is securely locked at the end of each shift
  • Notify the maintenance department of any issues involving rodents and pests
  • Assist with food preparation and serving
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigerator & freezers
  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Food Handlers' certification (required - company provided)
  • First Aid and CPR certification (within first fourteen days of employment - company provided).
  • Tuberculosis clearance (within first seven days of employment - company provided)
  • Experience and ability to work successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and other potential barriers to self-sufficiency


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with follow-through
  • Ability to work with a highly diverse population
  • Great communication skills


EQUIPMENT USED:



  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
  • Relevant kitchen equipment
  • Relevant cleaning equipment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
