This position is expected to start May 2026 and continue throughsummerterm (endingapproximately August 2026or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Regulatory product compliance is a critical business function and a rapidly expanding sector. The role facilitates global market access by leveraging product and process legislation. Regulatory complexity is increasing and continuously evolving with many local, national and international codes, standards and regulations.

Tesla is seeking an EMC Compliance Test Engineer to work on next-gen power converters for an array of cutting-edge applications such as PV inverters, Powerwall, Supercharger, Megapack, and more. The EMC Compliance Engineer will support product validation testing for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) for current and next generation Tesla Energy products.

What You'll Do
  • Perform EMC Testing of TESLA Energy products for EMI/EMC Compliance to meet FCC, UL and EN standard requirement

  • Perform EMC Compliance Testing includes Test execution, RCA/debug and report generation

  • Generate EMC test plans and test reports

  • Collaborate with EMC troubleshooting efforts

  • Manage in-house semi-anechoic chamber for performing emissions/immunity measurements

  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand Electromagnetic coupling path analysis and debugging to understand the noise sources


What You'll Bring
  • Pursuing a Degree inElectrical Engineering with relevant EMC experience or related field
  • Good understanding ofElectrical Engineeringfundamentals and circuit theory
  • Good understanding of Electromagnetic Field theory, Power Converters (ACDC, DCDC)
  • Hands-on experience with Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers,laboratory equipment and data acquisition tools
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC fundamentals
  • Experience using LTspice or any spice simulators, Altium, CST or HFSS
  • Understanding of RF wireless communication test standards and requirements
  • Understanding EMI Filter design concepts
  • Working knowledge on instruments required for EMC testing such as spectrum analyzers, EMI receiver, antennas, coupling clamps, field probes, ESD simulators, etc.
  • Familiarity performing EMC testing related to emissions and immunity such as FCC Part 15B, CISPR32, CISPR 11, IEC 61000-4 series, etc.
  • Knowledge of Radio module (LTE/WiFi/BLE) certification testing as per FCC Part 15C, ETSI standards

    Expected Compensation
    $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
