Working under the general supervision of Principal Investigator (or Research Manager), and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of routine experiments where methodologies are clearly established. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using basic statistics. May perform literature searches under direction of supervisor.
The Cichowski laboratory, a lab within BWH, Harvard Medical School, and the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center, is searching for motivated individuals to fill a Research Assistant position. Our laboratory utilizes biochemical, cellular and mouse modeling approaches to elucidate mechanisms that drive cancer. We then use this insight to develop and test promising therapies with the goal of ultimately translating our findings to the clinic. This is a superb opportunity for someone who is interested in working in a cutting-edge, academic basic research setting on projects with high clinical relevance. This laboratory has a long tradition of integrating research assistants into all scientific aspects of the lab and mentoring them to achieve their career goals.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Experience
Prior laboratory experience, either through academic coursework, internships, or employment 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and instruments used in research experiments.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and scientific software tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey experimental procedures, results, and challenges.
