The Opportunity

The Division of Academic Innovation (DAI) DAI Junior Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse portfolio of projects and events across the Division of Academic Innovation. This role is responsible for planning and managing the implementation of key projects and coordinating efforts among various campus and university stakeholders as well as external partners. Working closely with the DAI Operations Manager, the DAI Junior Project Manager helps track milestones, document progress, synthesize stakeholder data, and ensure projects move forward smoothly, meeting defined goals.

The role will lead or co-lead initiatives involving teams across the division and campus, including operational projects, events, academic initiatives, process improvements, and technology-related efforts. This position plays a critical role in bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to DAI's growing work.

Essential Job Functions

Project Planning, Coordination, and Execution

  • Develop project plans, timelines, workflows, and documentation using project management software (Wrike).

  • Track milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Coordinate meetings, resources, and communication among stakeholders and project teams.

  • Ensure projects remain aligned with scope, timelines, and objectives.

Implementation and Process Support

  • Support the implementation of new tools, systems, and initiatives from proposal through testing and launch.

  • Document processes and workflows to support sustainability and knowledge sharing.

  • Monitor project outcomes and usage to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to synthesize feedback and adjust plans as needed.

Event and Program Management

  • Lead or co-lead event-based projects such as the annual DAI conference, summits, and workshops.

  • Manage timelines, logistics, communications, and post-event documentation.

Communication, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare project updates, summaries, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Maintain organized project records and shared documentation.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying patterns, risks, and opportunities across projects.

Additional Duties

  • Other special projects and duties as assigned by the Associate Dean or executive leadership.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree,or Associate's degree with at least three years of relevant experience

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Experience in higher education, academic innovation, or a related environment.

  • Exposure to event planning, technology implementation, or process improvement initiatives.

  • Enrolled in a project management degree program.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Experience applying project management principles.

  • Familiarity with project management tools or software (e.g., Asana, Wrike, Trello, Monday, or similar).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership.

  • Familiarity with data collection, basic analysis, and reporting to support decision-making.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
