Job Summary:

The School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Research Services Senior Clinical Science Professional (Senior Project Coordinator). This Senior Clinical Science Professional will support both the EMBHR Lab (which conducts research that focuses on the advancement of methods for engaging patients, practices, and other health system representatives in co-design, testing, implementation, and dissemination of evidence-based approaches to improving mental and behavioral health) and the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) Dissemination and Implementation Research Core (which provides supports innovation, education, and application of D&I science and evidence for the CCTSI research community).

In the EMBHR lab, this position will support D&I aims for multiple research projects, including application of D&I theories, models, and frameworks; development and execution of both dissemination and implementation strategies; creation of recruitment and intervention materials; measurement of D&I outcomes; and coordination of research engagement activities both in-person and virtually. More generally, the role will also include supporting preparatory activities such as IRB and protocol preparation and submission; development of operating procedures and data collection tools; and contributing to reporting and dissemination activities. The position will also involve overall project management (including managing large multidisciplinary teams) and assisting with general project needs as identified by the PI and program manager.

In the CCTSI D&I research core, this position will serve as a program coordinator supporting both the D&I core's Design & Dissemination Service (which offers both free consults and paid services to researchers within and beyond the CCTSI community) and other core initiatives. The work includes coordinating all workflows for consults and service contracts (including scheduling, taking notes, tracking key metrics including satisfaction surveys, and serving as the primary contact for service contracts including SOW creation, time tracking and billing). Additionally, this role will support projects emerging from the CCTSI D&I Community of Practice, maintain the D&I core website and its Dissemination Inspiration Library, and take on additional projects to support the core's objectives. This role will also provide services as appropriate under Design & Dissemination Service contracts, leveraging D&I theories, models and frameworks, with oversight from core faculty. The position may also involve contributing to dissemination of D&I core research and tools through poster presentations, manuscript support, and non-academic dissemination.

The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating multiple projects related to D&I science and working in multidisciplinary/team science settings; experience managing service contracts and workflows with internal customers; a strong orientation towards customer service and excellent communication skills; productivity in working remotely; familiarity with D&I science; and experience creating recruitment/intervention materials for community-engaged research.

Key Responsibilities:

* EMBHR lab:

o Apply D&I theories, models and frameworks to the development of dissemination and implementation strategies

o Write, design, and edit study materials (with assistance from study teams) using available technology programs (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office Products) to support EMBHR studies

o Coordinate research engagement activities such as Dissemination Studios, co-design sessions, advisory groups and others

o Provide overall project management for EMBHR research studies, including creating and managing a detailed project plan and ensuring timely completion of all grant deliverables

o Create and maintain, with assistance from study teams, Qualtrics and REDCap data collection tools, and coordinate data collection and management for EMBHR studies

o Independently perform study related processes, procedures, and assessments as defined in study protocol and in compliance with regulating bodies

o Independently master study materials, including but not limited to protocols, informed consent forms, and all other essential study documents for assigned studies

o Develop, with assistance from study teams, protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, data collection tools, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

o Adhere to research regulatory standards

* CCTSI D&I core:

o Lead consult scheduling, coordination and follow-up, including taking notes and providing "action steps" covered in consults; contribute communication expertise to consults as appropriate

o Create and track service contracts, including leading development of SOWs, invoicing, satisfaction surveys and project close-out

o With Associate Director and Program Manager, assist with reporting for Design & Dissemination Service activities and client satisfaction

o Serve as point-of-contact on contracts with external communications, graphic and website design firms, to produce and ensure high-quality dissemination products

o Manage D&I core website(s) using SiteFinity platform, and maintain awareness of website best practices, accessibility requirements, university policies, etc.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, psychology or a health related field
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
  • Two (2) years academic health research or related experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating research engagement activities with patients or community members
  • Proficiency using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and similar tools to create study materials for community-engaged or co-created research
  • Experience managing service contracts and workflows with internal and external customers in an academic setting
  • Master's degree in communication, public health or health related field
  • Knowledge of the fields of health communication and/or dissemination and implementation (D&I) science

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE $56,995 - $72,498
