Position Summary:
The Research Analyst is responsible for the management and quality of key research and operations-related systems, including daily maintenance of systems, identification and resolution of technology issues, and participation in the planning for technology solutions that meet organizational objectives. The Research Analyst collaborates with GASB staff and the FAF IT Department to accomplish these tasks.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and ensure quality of key research and operations-related systems including, but not limited to:
- Research System
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a research repository of PDFs of government financial reports as well as information extracted from government financial reports
- Ensure completeness of the research relational database
- Sogolytics Survey Tool
- Create and execute surveys and extract results
- Develop a system for organizing survey results to permit synthesis of results across multiple projects
- Develop a process and documentation for the development of surveys that facilitates the communication of a designed survey for entry in the tool
- CRM Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Quality review data associated with contacts, organizations, interactions, and other project-related data
- Develop and maintain of reports and charts
- Maintain mailing lists
- Assist with data uploads
- Microsoft Power BI
- Develop and maintain dashboards for project and administrative use
- Microsoft Copilot
- Support GASB staff in the adoption of Copilot including training and troubleshooting uses of the tool
- Evaluate opportunities where Copilot or other AI solutions may improve processes and workflows for the organization, make recommendations, and lead implementation of these opportunities.
- Evaluate current policies and revise or write new policies and procedures for key research and operations-related systems
- Identify and resolve technology issues, coordinating as needed with IT developers and solution providers
- Make suggestions for process improvements and system modifications
- Conduct periodic training of staff on systems and technology tools
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or other relevant field
- Three or more years of professional experience in an IT or IS environment
- Experience supporting and administering CRM platforms (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Experience with Large Language Models, including prompt engineering as well as agentic AI solutions
- Experience in Sogolytics, another survey tool, or the skills to build embedded survey logic
- Ability to design and deliver effective training sessions and materials to the staff in the use of current systems and various technology tools
- Basic understanding of accounting with a preference given to candidates with understanding of governmental accounting
- Experience learning, communicating, and implementing business requirements
- Ability to identify areas for process improvements and increased efficiencies
- Project management experience with small- to medium-scale projects
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and develop new areas of expertise
