ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers telephone and distributes calls and messages within the laboratory and radiology departments.
  • Consults with nurses and physicians to address issues or questions regarding physician orders.
  • Enters orders in LIS from patients of outside physicians.
  • Monitors fax machine for reference lab reports and outside physicians orders.
  • Accurately scans reports and orders into EPIC.
  • Completes patient registration.
  • Completes ABN's and sends to scanning.
  • Notifies radiology techs of patients request for CD of x-rays.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Maintains sufficient inventory of supplies and printer maintenance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); basic knowledge of office practice, medical terminology, or prior knowledge in basic physiology/biology.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.

Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Good communication/interpretive/oral /written skills

Ability to multi-task

SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Manual dexterity needed to operate telephone and keyboard. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is sometimes required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
