3 Positions Available: Southern California, Central California, and Northern California Regions Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (Hybrid Schedule) Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 Annually
Summary: The Senior Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist designs, facilitates, and reinforces impactful learning experiences and programs that bring the organization's culture, service standards, and leadership expectations to life. This role supports the localization and execution of enterprise-wide talent development initiatives across an assigned portfolio of regional senior-living and affordable housing communities, primarily in California. Essential Functions:
Apply advanced instructional design expertise to develop engaging, learner-centered training experiences across multiple modalities using proven adult learning principles; partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements, as applicable. Facilitate interactive live and virtual training workshops and courses for diverse audiences, ranging from frontline service team members to senior executives. Adapt facilitation approach and content delivery across a wide range of topics, including service excellence, leadership and management development, clinical in-service, empathy, compliance, orientation, etc. Create psychologically safe learning environments and apply advanced facilitation techniques to guide discussions, draw insights from experienced audiences, and connect concepts to real-world operational challenges. Lead and coordinate enterprise learning initiatives and Train-the-Trainer sessions with a cross-community network of facilitators; leverage this network to reinforce learning and drive sustained behavior change through coaching tools, job aids, and follow-up activities. Serve as a strategic consultant to assigned regional community leaders to identify performance gaps and recommend creative, data-informed learning and performance solutions. Partner with HR, Learning & Development, and the Culture & Community team to design a scalable L&D foundation and deliver enterprise-wide learning initiatives and programs at the community level, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment across divisions. Assist internal and external professionals in the development of job-specific competencies and learning pathways; manage LMS functionality, including content curation, reporting, analytics, surveys, and troubleshooting. Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleges, universities, and third-party learning vendors; support needs assessment, RFP development, vendor evaluation, and selection. Define and track learning KPIs; evaluate learning program effectiveness using data-driven methods, such as surveys and focus groups, and implement continuous improvements to maximize learner impact. Partner in internal communication and marketing campaigns to promote learning initiatives and champion a culture of continuous learning. Ability to travel within California and occasionally Nationwide (approximately 75%) for site visits and training. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Technical Acumen:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar productivity tools. Demonstrated ability to facilitate learning using virtual delivery platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), including effective use of embedded tools, such as breakout rooms, whiteboard, polls, and chat features. Demonstrated ability to develop digital learning content using course authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360). Ability to manage and administer Learning Management System (LMS/LXP).
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, Learning Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Preferred: Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Education, or Business Administration.
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:7+ years working in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, or a related field; deep knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and facilitation principles. Preferred:2+ years' experience in the Senior Care or Senior Living Industry, or a related industry.
