Overview of the Position:


This role will expose the individual to a wide range of engineering skills in the aviation industry centered around creating/maintaining a TTE (Tool & Test Equipment) Equivalency program as well as developing Engineered Repairs to return aircraft parts to service on time, while ensuring safety and compliance, enhancing reliability, and delivering cost savings to airlines.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Uses hand measurement tools and to help reverse engineer commercial aircraft parts.
  • Creates inspection report to return measurement data to Engineering.
  • Fabricates test equipment using industry standards
  • Assists in writing engineering reports.
  • Read and Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of common inspection tools such as micrometer, caliper, height gauges, and optical comparator. Understand inspection and measurement processes and procedures. Experience with MS Excel and MS Word.

Requirements

This is for a Full Time ONSITE position Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm.



Education and Experience Requirements:



  • High School Certification or GED.
  • 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is also a consideration.


  • Associate's degree in drafting or computer aided design preferred;

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.




Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.




  • Is frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold parts, measure and inspect.
  • Is frequently required to reach for tools, parts, etc.
  • Is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Has clear vision at 20 inches or less
