Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION

To provide administrative and technical human resource assistance to employees of the company and to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.

Training and Experience: Five (5) years experience in the HR field. Professional in Human Resource or higher certification preferred.

General Skills: Must be able to prioritize tasks, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, highly organized, ability to handle multiple tasks, high analytical ability, detail oriented, and work under little to no supervision.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Sets up files on all new personnel and assigns employee number. Records changes on all employee status as necessary (e.g. change of address, rate increases, terminations, etc.) and coordinates with Accounting regarding payroll processing.


  • Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefit claims processing, and job openings in line with written company policy on these matters.


  • Administers new employee on boarding program.


  • Administers benefit program to include claim resolution, employee enrollment, employee benefit termination notifications, vendor coordination of changes. Verifies and submits invoices for approval to the Director of Human Resources.


  • Conducts a benefit audit to insure deductions correspond with HRIS and Accounting systems.


  • Coordinates publication of company newsletter with appropriate department heads and Graphics Department.


  • Administers Employee Service Award Program.


  • Maintain HRIS records and generates reports from database as required.


  • Compiles statistical data each year for Affirmation Action Plan, i.e. Job Group Analysis, Work Group Analysis, New Hire Log, Terminations Log, Promotions/Transfers Log, Summary of Personnel Activity and Applicant Log.


  • Generates Personnel Action Forms for all employee changes for Director of HR signature. Enters changes into and coordinates with Accounting to insure changes are made in the payroll system.


  • Prepares EEO-1, VETS-100 and OSHA 300 reports for Director of Human Resources signature. Insures OSHA 300 reports are posted at each worksite as required by law.


  • Administer and track Workers Compensation claims.


  • Administers COBRA benefits.


  • Maintains and updates HR Webpage on Sharepoint.


  • Maintain Federal and State posters for all locations.


  • Conducts background checks, create offer letter, and locate drug screen locations on targeted applicants for hire.


  • Creates and updates job descriptions as required.


  • Create and update HR procedural checklists as required.


  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
