Job Description

The Summer Investment Intern will support the Allstate Commercial Real Estate Investment Team in evaluating potential investments and monitoring portfolio activity. This role is designed for undergraduate students seeking exposure to institutional real estate investing and handson analytical experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in screening new investment opportunities for portfolio fit and relative value
  • Support initial financial analysis and highlevel underwriting of prospective deals
  • Conduct market research and comparable property analysis
  • Help prepare investment summaries, memos, and presentation materials
  • Maintain deal pipeline tracking and support internal reporting
  • Participate in team meetings and selected deal discussions
  • Provide general analytical and administrative support to investment professionals

Career Exploration & Partner Exposure

The internship program includes structured opportunities for career exploration across the commercial real estate industry. Interns will have the opportunity to observe and learn from select Allstate investment partners, gaining exposure to how real estate investments are executed beyond the investor perspective.

These experiences provide insight into a range of real estate disciplines and career paths, including:

  • Development and project execution
  • Leasing strategy and tenant decisionmaking
  • Property management and asset operations

This programming is designed to complement the core investment role and provide interns with a practical understanding of the full real estate lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Strong interest in commercial real estate and investments
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; financial modeling experience a plus but not required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks

Program Details

  • Fulltime summer internship (10-12 weeks)
  • Based in Chicago, IL (hybrid)
