The Medical Technologist I is responsible for performing laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory and reporting timely accurate test results. Our laboratory testing plays a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric, adult, and prenatal conditions. With state-of-the-art laboratory services, facilities and technologies, we support and guide quality patient care across the pediatric spectrum. Our labs offer a wide range of high-quality lab screenings and diagnostic tests with rapid turnaround times, as well as an unmatched scope and capabilities, including diagnostic tests that aren't available anywhere else in the country. The specialists in our Microbiology Lab serve as vital consultants to our physicians, helping to determine what medications will cure an infection. Working closely with other teams throughout the hospital and the clinical laboratory - like the Infectious Disease, Antimicrobial Stewardship and Pharmacy teams - this lab aids in the diagnosis of many diseases, including those caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites and other microorganisms. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution. EQUIVALENCY - Meeting one of the other requirements set by the ASCP Board of Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree. CERTIFICATION(S) -Medical Technologist/Scientist Certification ASCP or equivalent or; certification required within 6 months of eligibility PREFERRED - Previous microbiology experience Salary Information As part of our Total Rewards package, Children's Colorado offers an annual employee bonus program that rewards eligible team members based on organizational performance. If organizational goals are met for the year, the bonus is paid out the following April.
