Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Senior Technical Developerto join our dynamic Corporate Applications Team. This position reports to theSenior Dynamics 365 Architect, and thisrole is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 FO) solutions with a strong emphasis on X++ development, ERP integrations, reporting, and performance optimization. The Senior Technical Developer plays a key role in delivering highquality, maintainable ERP solutions that support core financial, project, and HR business processes.

The ideal candidate brings handson experience working within complex D365 FO environments, strong technical problemsolving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with functional consultants and business stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of D365 FO architecture, development best practices, and enterprise ERP operations.

What You Will Do:



  • X++ Development & Extensibility
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom X++ solutions using the D365 FO extensibility framework, including extensions, Chain of Command (CoC), event handlers, forms, classes, tables, and reports, following Microsoft best practices.
  • ERP Integration Development
    Design and support integrations between D365 FO and external systems using data entities, APIs, batch jobs, and Azurebased integration patterns.
  • Reporting & Data Solutions
    Develop and enhance SSRS reports and support data integration and analytics using SQL Server technologies such as SSIS and SSAS.
  • System Enhancements & Ongoing Support
    Implement system enhancements, bug fixes, and refactoring efforts while maintaining system stability, security, and performance.
  • Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
    Analyze and resolve performance issues using SQL analysis, Lifecycle Services (LCS), Activity Monitor, and Trace Parser. Perform rootcause analysis and recommend longterm corrective actions.
  • Data Migration & Data Management
    Support data migration initiatives using D365 FO data entities, validations, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Batch Processing & Automation
    Develop and maintain batch jobs using the SysOperation framework to support scheduled and asynchronous processing.
  • Functional Module Support
    Design and support technical solutions across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Project Management, and Human Resources, ensuring alignment with functional requirements and business processes.
  • ISV Solution Support
    Configure, customize, and support thirdparty ISV solutions such as Project 360 and Treasury Automation Suite, ensuring compatibility with D365 FO standards.
  • Testing & Deployment Support
    Participate in unit testing, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Support deployments and releases using Azure DevOps build and release pipelines.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    Work closely with functional consultants, solution architects, and business users to translate requirements into technical solutions and communicate development status and risks clearly.

  • Familiarity with cloudhosted D365 FO environments and Lifecycle Services (LCS)
  • Experience working with thirdparty ISV solutions

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
